The University of Edinburgh Renaissance Choir, directed by Noel O’Reagan, will be performing several of my editions on their tour in Portugal and Galiza this week. The choir will also perform works by Portuguese composers such as Filipe de Magalhães and Estêvão de Brito and Spanish composers such as Estêvão Lopes Morago, Francisco Guerrero and Tomás Luis de Victoria and the English William Byrd.
The first concert is tomorrow, June 4th, in Oporto and the the following day (June 5th) in Braga. Then the choir will travel to Galiza for some concerts in Santiago de Compostela.
The works by Estêvão Lopes Morago (c.1575-c.1630) will be using the edition I prepared for the n.º 8 of the Polyphonia series edited by Movimento Patrimonial pela Música Portuguesa, featuring the motets De profundis clamavi, Oculi mei semper ad Dominum and Versa est in luctum by Morago (all for SATB).
