The edition of Portuguese composer Estêvão de Brito’s (c.1575-1641) Missa Ferialis for four voices (SATB). As the title suggests, it’s a mass prescribed to be sung during the week days. Together with the Missa pro Defunctis, it’s the only mass that survives from Brito’s musical output. The work is preserved in one of the few early-18th-century choirbooks of Málaga Cathedral that feature all of Brito’s music. As usual in the ferialis mass, only the Kyrie, Sanctus and Agnus Dei are set to polyphony, as it happens to be the case in Brito’s work.
