This is one of three smaller works ascribed to Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina (c.1525-1596) that the Ensemble da Sé de Angra is recording. Tua Jesu dilectio is a small hymn (only 2 stanzas appear set to music in the source, but almost certainly the complete hymn could be sung), for three voices (in this recording, SST). It appears in a publication prepared by the printer Simone Veronio entitled Diletto spirituale canzonette a tre et a quattro voci con l’intavolatura del cimbalo et liuto, printed in Rome in 1586.
Although interesting in a special way, to me this is probably not by Palestrina. Like in the case of Josquin, publishers or composers might added the name of Palestrina for the book to gain importance in the printed music market.
The video was recorded at Angra Cathedral (images), 19 July 2013. The Ensemble da Sé de Angra features myself (as a tenor), Carolina Barbosa and Sara Vieira (superius) in this recording.
