Estêvão Lopes Morago • O bone Jesu

polifonia1bVideo of the motet O bone Jesu for four voices by Portuguese composer Estêvão Lopes Morago (c.1575-c.1630). This recording was made during Ensemble da Sé de Angra’s part of the concert that took place last 31 July in the beautiful Church of Nossa Senhora da Guia at the franciscan convent of S. Francisco in Angra do Heroísmo, now Angra Museum.

This concert was part of the Festival “Iberian Music 16th & 17th Centuries” that took place in the cities of Angra do Heroísmo and Praia da Vitória in Terceira Island,  from 28 July to 5 August.

In this performance Ensemble da Sé de Angra, which incorporates members of the Coro da Sé de Angra, is Carolina Barbosa (superius), Ana Sousa (altus), Luís Henriques (tenor) and Jorge Barbosa (bassus).
